Well last Sunday was a big day for our Little Man...he is officially old enough to go to nursery. (tear, of happiness) Here are a few pictures of him on his 1st day. With his new hair cut by Aunt Connie and his stylish outfit given to us by cousin Jackson, he looks so handsome and grown up. He is such a good little guy and we love him so much.

Halloween 2011

We had a lot of fun on Halloween this year. We got to wear our costumes 5 different times. We had fun school parties, a ward Halloween party, a friend party, a party at the library, and to top it off treat-or-treating on Halloween night. I wanted the kiddos to be Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Holly wanted to be Ariel. We compromised and the kids got to wear 2 costumes this year. Rick and some of his law buddies decided to dress in like costumes for their school party. Rick is the Tin Man in case you didn't recognize him.

Holly's 1st day of Preschool

Holly loves preschool. She goes to a great little school called Patchwork Preschool. She has a total of 12 kiddos in her class. She goes Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 1/2 hours. It has been so good for her to go to school and it has been fun for me and Dallin to have some one-on-one time together. I can't believe how grown up my Holly Bear is getting!!!

Jackson and Eric took us to the Arizona Science Center and it was really fun. Holly calls Jackson her best buddy, and she always has so much fun with him. Holly's favorites at the science center were the Build-a-Bear playhouse, and the digestive system slide that made funny noises when you went through.

Dallin is 1. I just can't believe how fast he is growing up. He is a really happy little guy, and just loves his sister Holly. He loves to be outside, and his favorite foods are bananas and french fries. His favorite toy is his blue bunny (if we ever lost it, we would be in real trouble). To 30 and Beyond

Rick celebrated his 30th birthday on April 12. We surprised him with a treat and a balloon in the library and a taco night with some of our best friends. Happy Birthday Daddy :)

The Mall Train

Holly is now a big girl and has learned to use the big girl potty. After she went a week with no accidents we took her to the mall to ride the mall train. She has been wanting to ride the train so badly that it became a great motivator for her. Good Job Holly Bear.

Ice Skating

Rick took Holly Ice Skating for her first time over spring break. She's a natural.

Easter

The kiddos looked so cute in their Easter clothes this year. Holly was such a lucky girl this year to be wearing a hand-made Easter dress from our Aunt Jean. It was so lovely on her and she was so proud to tell everyone at church about her special dress. Dallin was sporting a darling sweater vest and plaid shirt combo that really looked handsome. We had a great Easter and a wonderful month.

Dallin is WALKING!!!

Well life is changing here at the Thornock house...Dallin started to walk today. He will be 10 months old the beginning of April. He is just growing up so fast! I guess he is trying to catch up to sister Holly.

Wow, I can't believe that my little girl is 3. She is growing up so fast. We had a little party for her with some of our friends and their kiddos. We told Holly on Sunday that her birthday was on Monday and she got really excited. She said that she was going to have a pinata and that she was going to hit it and candy and toys would fall out. So the next morning we went a picked out a pinata. She chose one that looked like a dog. She carried it around all day and called it her pet. She even put a jacket on it when we went outside. I was really nervous that she was going to freak out when it broke, but candy and toys are a great distraction. Some of Holly's favorite things include...riding her bike, playing with friends, Daddy, books, library story time, Little People play sets, and bath time. She is a great big sister to Dallin and we just love her so much.

Dallin is 8 Months Old

Dallin has been very busy this month. He has been on the move now for about 3 weeks. (I am finally getting around to posting the video of his first crawl.) He is a very fast little crawler now. We have pulled out the baby gates to protect him from falling down the stairs, and to make it more difficult for mom NOT to fall down the stairs. :) He has also started to pull himself up to standing at the couch, the stairs and sisters toddler bed. (which she doesn't really like) He also got his first tooth about 2 weeks ago and this morning I noticed his second. My little guy is sure growing up fast.

For Christmas we decided to go to Disneyland with the kiddos. Holly is almost 3 so we thought we would take advantage of the last chance to get her into the park for free. We had a really fun time, but the weather tried to spoil our fun. We tried to go right before Christmas and ended up running into record breaking storms. The weather reports were saying that there was more rain on that one day than Southern Cal had ever seen. Disneyland canceled their parades and a lot of the rides were shut down. We ended up heading to Arizona early for Christmas and then went back to Disneyland after the holiday. The weather was much better the second time. All in all it was really fun. I mean how can you go wrong at Disneyland, the happiest place on earth!

We had a great Christmas this year. We were able to travel to Arizona and spend time with both sides of the family. Dallin had a great first Christmas and Holly was such a great unwrapping helper. The kids looked so cute in their Christmas pjs, and I had a lot of fun shopping for them.

Dallin is 6 Months

Dallin is 6months old. He is in the 75th percentile for height and weight. He loves rice cereal, pears, and believe it or not green beans. His favorite person to watch is Holly.

He is really good and rolling and sitting and he even knows how to get into a crawling position from sitting. He can't get moving yet but he does a lot of rocking. I guess it's time to get out the baby gates. We sure love this guy.

Ward Halloween Party

We had a really fun time at the ward Halloween party. They had trick-or-treating around the classrooms and in the cultural hall they had music and a cake walk. Holly got a candy corn painted on her face, and she even won a cake! We had a great, and busy, Halloween this year.

We had so much fun at the BYU Law school party this year. Holly was an expert trick-or-treater, and Dallin was really good the whole time. We had pizza, walked in a Halloween parade, and did trick-or-treating around the study desks in the law library. My little sailors were so cute and had a great time playing at Daddy's school.

The Law Partners did a trip to the pumpkin patch and it was really fun. They had a bounce house, playground, and some fun little playhouses to go through. They also had a lot of little animals like, bunnies, turkeys, and goats. We went through a corn maze and even picked out our own pumpkin to take home. It was a really fun trip.

The Caped Crusader

Dallin is now 5 months old. He is really starting to grow up. Yesterday he sat up for a full minute without falling over. (of course I didn't have the camera) He is also doing so much better in the car. He has a new favorite toy: his feet, and he plays with them whenever he gets a chance. He has had his first taste of rice cereal and really likes it, my good little eater pants. Now we are working on sleeping through the night without needing a bottle and being able to go to sleep on his own. He is also Mr. Smiles lately, which I love.

We took the kids to the Hogle Zoo the other weekend and it was really fun. My favorite part was seeing the little baby elephant, so cute! A few of Rick's law buddies and their families were able to come with us. Holly had so much fun with her friend Parker. It was a fun time had by all.

Well my little man keeps growing up and is now 4 months old. He is starting to become really fun always laughing and smiling at Rick, Holly, and me. He is quite the social guy; loves to watch people. His favorite toy is the burp rag. He grabs it in both hands and loves to chew on it. He still hates riding in the car, but he is sleeping really well at night so I can't complain.

Last weekend we decided to hike Y mountain with the kids before it got too cold. Our friends, the Madsens came with us. We made it, even though I am out of shape. Rick carried Holly in a back carrier and I carried Dallin in a front carrier. It was really fun and tiring.

Rick got 2 tickets for the BYU vs. Washington game from a friend at school, so we thought that it would be fun for him to take Holly. They had a great time. Rick said that Holly's favorite thing was the marching band; we might have another generation of marchers in our household. It was a great game, BYU won 23-17. Rick and Holly came home with these great looking visors that came with the tickets. Holly had such a great time that this morning she asked to see the Cougars play again! GO COUGARS!

One Month Old

Dallin is now 1 month old. I can't believe it. The last few weeks have been a little crazy but all in all he has been a wonderful baby. We found out pretty quickly that our little Dallin has a dairy allergy and has been put on soy formula by the pediatrician. He is doing well on the soy formula now that we have adjusted to it. He is doing really great, gaining weight and sleeping during the night. He is just a really sweet little guy. He really loves bath time and of course being held. Holly is such a good big sister and has been so helpful with Dallin. We are so blessed to have him in our family.

Holly's Swim Lessons

Holly and Rick have been doing swim lessons this month. Holly loves the water and is doing really well. Her favorite things to do in class are jumping off the side into Daddy's arms, big arms and kicks, and singing the water songs. Here is a little video of her doing her big kicks.

Bounce House Fun

Last week Rick and I took Holly to this bounce house in Sandy Utah. It was really fun. On Wednesday mornings they do open play time from 10:00 am- 1:00 pm, so we thought that we would try it out. Holly and Rick had a great time bouncing and playing and I enjoyed watching and taking pictures (it's hard to bounce when pregnant).

Holly's 2nd Birthday

Holly had a great 2nd birthday. It was so much fun. She loved having us sing to her and blowing out the candle. Our friends Dani, Amanda, and Jeremy came over for cake and ice cream and brought Holly some of her favorite things...balloons, stickers, and a book with Dora on it. While we were in Arizona Pop Pop and G.G. took us to Chuck E. Cheese for some pizza, games, and presents. Holly loved every minute and she got a new best friend out of the deal, Jessie from Toy Story, who also enjoyed riding the little kid rides. Best 2 year old party ever :)

Rick and I went to the Doctor's last week and found out that our baby #2 is a BOY! We are very excited for Holly to have a brother, and as you can see she is thrilled about it. The due date is June 17th so I am 16 weeks along. It is going to be a great summer!

Thanks Stew for taking us to the lake for Holly's very first time. She did really well. At first she didn't really like the life jacket, but dealt with it. We sat her on the back of the boat to put her feet in and ended up jumping in to daddy. She was also a very big help with the flag.

I am really behind in blogging so get ready for a lot of pictures. The Sykes family went to Disneyland as our Christmas thing this year. It was really fun. We went the first week in December and the park was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. We were there for three days. Holly did really well and had a lot of fun with Pops and Grandie, and Uncle Will and Aunt Bri. I can't wait to take her back again.

Swimming Lessons

Holly started swimming lessons a few weeks ago. Her and I go every Tuesday morning to a place called Aqua Tots. I really love it. When I signed her up for the class they told me that it was a parent taught class and that there could be up to 8 other children in her class. We were the only ones to sign up for this class time so we get one on one instruction for the teacher. It is really great. I sit on the steps and watch while the teacher takes Holly and teachers her things like going under water, kicking her feet, and holding on to the side of the pool. I can't believe how much she is already learning. Here are a few action shots...

I can't believe how much Holly loves Baby Einsteins. She is mesmerized by the TV for the whole 30 minutes. She gets to watch one every few days, so when she sees them she is very excited. Her little feet are kicking the entire time the show is going. At least she is getting her exercise in at the same time.

We like to go for walks in the evening as a family. It is cooler outside and the sun is going down. On one leg of our walk the sun gets in our eyes really bad, so I got these cool shades for Holly to wear while we walk. She is one cool chick. We also got Holly a little pool that she loves. Holly started rolling over on Tuesday June 10th.When she did it the first time she was really mad at me for not picking her up, but I could see that she was so close to rolling over on her own that I let her cry. She did it! I think she was a little confused when I started cheering and called her daddy on the phone and still didn't pick her up. :) I got the video when she was in a better mood.

Holly loves her jumper. Mike and Susie Jensen gave Holly this little jumper and Holly really likes to play in it. She doesn't quite got the jumping part of it down, but she loves spinning around in circles and chewing on it. On Sunday May 4th, 2008 Holly was given a blessing by her father. It was so beautiful and I was so happy that Holly didn't cry through it. I was a little nervous about it because we put her in the car to go to church and she started screaming. Luckly she fell asleep and was perfectly content through the whole thing. We were so grateful to have so much family support on sunday. Thank you to all that made the effort to come and be apart of Holly's special day.

Well since Holly came a month early we didn't have the nursery done before she was born. Thanks to Rick having 4 weeks off of work and Grandma and Grandpa Sykes we were able to get it done. I just love the way that it turned out. It is my favorite room in the house. It all started when I found the bedding on ebay and just had to have it. The rest of the room came together with gifts from family and Craig's List. As you can see Holly loves her room as well.
